Celebrating 300
How much more can you say after a disappointing series loss like that? The offense was unable to generate runs, which ultimately was the reason for our demise. 3.5 games out is certainly surmountable, however, so we have to be glad it isn't any more than that. In other sobering NL Central news, the Brewers are on the cusp of acquiring C.C. Sabathia, which is expected to be announced today. Moreover, the rumor that the Cubs are now pursuing Rich Harden of the Oakland A's to counter the Brewers has sprung up, leaving the Cards on the back-burner with two legitimate contenders beefing up their cavalry. Enough of the bad news, though. I posted today to share some pics of Albert's 300th home run on Friday night. Our seats were in section 154, slightly to the right of the visitors' dugout. The fireworks were behind the scoreboard in center field and were very cool. Unfortunately, we didn't have enough offensive fireworks to extend the game a little longer. Notice Brendan Ryan looking spiffy with the All-American look - striped red socks, white jersey, and all-blue hat. I bet he would have fit right in with Ty Cobb and the rest of the oldies.Have you experienced a historic or special moment at Busch? Share with us in the comments!
